Which side of the horse do riders mount and unmount in England? I think the precedent for driving on the right or left side precedes the automobile.

Yes but later, Bill Gates and a partner of his, designed their own version of BASIC during their university time. I'm talking about that one.
Read a magazine article by the Swede who invented Basic - he may have worked at Dartmouth University, but seems unlikely for some reason.

He said the reason it was so easy was its operating environment, for example you only had to type 'run' to run a prog.

He was explaining a new language of his and a cartoon on the page had one of his students, in a white polo-neck - to show he was Swedish, saying: 'Look Sir - I've toart it two spelll lyke meee!'
