Make aweb based tool to adminstrate Unix systems


hello all ,,,

i have agraduation project with a topic "Web Based Tool To adminstarte Unix System" i really like linux and am using SLED 10 distro and iam happy with it and i want to make that project > web tool to adminstrate Unix systems (like subset of webmin) and i want to make 3 modules in this tool 1-User and groups managment 2-Cron (scheduler) 3-Syslogs can any body here give me asupport what much better Perl or PHP and what i nee to know to make this and the road map like first > learnning apache second > learnning Perl or PHP and thanx for the best community i ever know

thanx mr. gnashley for help but you think what about the road map u think itis better to start with apache than starting with PHP

apache is a web-server. You'll need a web-server in order to use php/cgi language in web pages.

i'd have a look at python maybe.
it's got an apache module, it's a different approach and it's
a nice but very powerful language.

webmin uses perl I believe http://www.webmin.com/support.html
