Looking to extract image properties in C++

I'm looking to find a way of extracting the following information from images using C++

Height, width, file size.

I'm not looking to load the image or display it or anything, just extract this information and then I'll perform a task based on the results.

This will be a console application and platform independant (if possible)

Thanks in advance...
