Red face Loading a php module using custom ini


I have a webhosting account, but the server admin did not include mysqli module. How can I use mysqli in this situation?

I am thinking,

put mysqli module in my web directory

load it using custom php ini

You might want to look at the dl() function. However, even if you can get that to work does your ISP meet the version requirements of MySQL? I guess that what I'm getting at, is there a reason they don't include it?
