Loading a Linux Machine

Hi

I am tsting a SW application on a VM Machine form a ESX Server.

The application will be run on a Linux Server in the production environment. I need to load my VM machine, to ape the production environment, where the server is usually very busy reading/writing to database, responding to client requests etc.

What kind of a Deamon/Script can I run in the background for the same.

Thanks

We had tried this in the past http://www.passmark.com/download/bit_download.htm . It lets you load up different aspects of the OS like HDD/Memory/CPU etc..

Thanks,

I visited the link, and also ran the test on the Linux Machine.
Just want to know, if the test is good enough/sufficient to ape the production environment?

Or shall I explore more options too?

That is something only you can decide. I was satisfied with the test coverage and results using the mentioned software.
