Linux program to determine Win XP login status

Hi Everybody

I have a question.I dont know what to do or where I should look for so I am writing here.
My problem is: I need to determine from Linux ( using some script that I want to write ) if somebody is using ( is logged in ) Win XP workstation.Is it possible or not? I read something about Windows Terminal Services but that cannot help me with my problem.
I have in my company a lot of Linux workstations but only some WinXP so I need to know which of them is free.

Well, a temporary but working solution could be to create a little app that runs when someone logins (ie, you put it on Start -> Programs -> Startup) that you can connect to check if it's running or not.
