Kernel Panic: version incompatibility

Hi,
I've done the following steps:
  • cd /usr/src/linux-2.4.20-8
  • make mrproper
  • make oldconfig
  • make dep
  • make bzImage
  • make modules
  • make modules_install

finally when I want boot the RH9 with the built 2.4 kernel it gives me a kernel panic:
/lib/ext3.o: kernel-module version mismatch
/lib/ext3.o was compiled for kernel version 2.4.20-8
while this kernel is version 2.4.20-8custom

Also the same error withBusLogic.o, jbd.o, sd_mod.o and more. What should I do?

Thanks in advance.
