Javascript / HTML <select> tag

I'm writing a form, and when a user click a certain radio button it displays a certain list of names in a drop-down menu. However, some names are longer than others, and the drop-down menu changes sizes depending on what radio button they clicked on, I was wonder if i could set up the drop-menu to be a static size. Is this possible with HTML or javascript? or any other language

let me know if i wasn't clear enough

thanks,
djgerbavor3
