Java with MouseMotionListener

i have a program that when a user clicks, the addMouseMotionListener fires up. that works, but when the user double clicks, I want to stop the MouseMotionListener. Is there a way (in Java 1.4.2), that i can stop the MouseMotionListener from Listening? Thanks.

void removeMouseListener(MouseListener l)
