Java time, system or bios?


Is there different methods in Java to call time? A lot of Dell machines suffer from bios time which is to fast or to slow. We have a java application which gets screwed in Windows since Windows will chnage the BIOS time ever now and then to its system time which makes our application crash. Is there a way to check the system time instead of the bios time which works across all platforms?

I think a better approach in this case would be to sync your system with a time server. Is there some reason why not to do that? Here is a tutorial about the NTP time server:
