Unhappy JAVA:problem in installing ECLIPSE SDk on LINUX

Actually i had problems related to JAVA i.e. i downloaded j2sdk1.4.2 for LINUX from sun's website but it is not running Graphical programs( swing, awt etc)
Some time giving compilation error that couldn't find default package swing etc...

Then some one proposed to download SDK from i downloaded it 4 times 62MB the latest build but it is giving errors in extraction.........

KINDLY GIVE an exact solution to the problem so that i can run graphics packages swing...awt on LINUX

Are you trying to run the example programs that came with the distribution? Could you paste the program and how you are compiling/running it? II've never upgraded to 1.4.2 but I have 1.3.1 and swing works fine on it.
