Java AppletViewer

Hi,

I have run into a problem with Appletviewer which I cannot figure out

Code:
appletviewer -debug
Error: could not find libjava.so
Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.
I have tried adding to PATH but that does not work

Does anyone (who knows more than I do about Java) tell me what I am doing wrong

I don't kniow if for sure but maybe it's looking for the JAVA_HOME environment variable to be set so it can find the jre

export JAVA_HOME=path to the top level directory java is installed in

just a guess.

Looks like your applet needs the java 3d api downloaded from sun.

I'm guessing that it needs the 3d api because of the j3d in the path for the class not found, anyway, blackdown have ported it to linux, though I've never used it,
