java - any good online tutorials?

well a friend rang me ans asked for a program to write e-mail adresses tio a database, it has to run on a laptop sans any sort of webserver and running windows 2003.
now i never turn down work so i said sure :S
after a quick debate with my more knolagable guru friend we decided to write a java program.

unfortunitally he has gone offline and i have 12 hours to teach myself enough java to do the task.

can anyone point me in the direction of a good beginners howto to set me in the right direction?

Bluej is a good easy environment to build and test java programs. I don't really need any big complicated IDE at this point. :)
