insmod: error inserting 'new.ko': -1 Invalid module format


hello

i am working on 2.6.8 kernel i compiled my modules new.c
when i tired to
insmod -f new.ko
it gives me this message
" insmod: error inserting 'new.ko': -1 Invalid module format "

then i tired depmod againg it gives me this message
depmod: QM_MODULES: Function not implemented

plz help me

have u compil;ed this module on this machine and the same kernel

right after you try to run the insmod or modprobe

run

dmesg
it should tell you what the problem is.
