Question inc file

hi!
I have to study a file.f. (version fortran 77 with g77)
I receved, with this, a lot of .inc files but I don't know what type of files they are and how I have to use them.Then my computer tells me that they are unknown files....Do I have to download a particular program to open them?or what i have to do-to know about?

Could they be "include" files which are used (inserted) in the Fortran code? If so, you could try any text editor...
