IBM ViaVoiceTTS problem

Hi there! i've got a problem on ECI API of IBM ViaVoiceTTS
this is the problem:
When I call any methods on the ECI it will cause an runtime error which is segmentation fault
I've search about this problem, and i've found out that it does not work with newer glibc.
The question is, is there anyway that it could be worked around without updating glibc??? and if changing version of glibc to lower version will affect the os???

note:
My Linux is RedHat 8.0
glibc version glibc-2.3.2-4.80.6
Im newbee in linux
but not on c/c++

thanks in advance
hope you could help me
