note that gtk-perl is NOT gtk2-perl in the same way that gtk+ is NOT gtk2. there's no point learning gtk+ / gtk-perl these days though, it's pretty obselete.
Also the gtk2-perl api is very similar to gtk2 in it's original form. personally i only EVER use gtk.org for gtk documentation. once you get the gist of how to open a standard. just a case of translating the c code to the perl equivalent, which is a doddle.
