Talking I need help with this PHP code. I'm stumped

Yeah, I don't know how many times I've answered my own question seconds after posting on forums or on usenet.
Its good to figure things out by yourself but IMHO I think posts like that should be left up for others to try and solve.
They may post a better solution but my main reason for leaving posts is that if you had a problem doing something then someone else will as well and may go looking for the answer. It will be there for them with several solutions that will get their brain into the correct gear.
