I want to add a new feature to my site, a virtual town so to speak. You get a templete of different homes and you pick 1. Then you can click on it and it is like a mini page with info on you or what ever. how would I do it?

Web server uses CGIs/PHP to create the view based on content held in a backend database. The view contains links to drill down to progressively greater detailed views, as well as links to navigate up, down and across the hierarchy. The standard collection of tools used to do this is coined LAMP; Linux, Apache, mySQL, PHP. Other components can be substituted as you see fit.
The PHP or CGI component of this will not be trivial. Most of the presentation will need to be generated from code, and since your application sounds like it is highly graphical in nature, will probably require some understanding of a toolkit such as ImageMagick.
A system such as Macromedia Flash may be a significant aid or even a complete alternative to LAMP, but I think that requires a Windows component for generation of the system.

Just FYI:

Please try to make the title of threads you create contain a short synopsis of the problem you have, so that users who are scanning through the lists of threads can identify potential issues they might be able to help solve.
