How to write an autorun.inf file

Hello,
I have done research and reviewed numerous websites. I cannot find or understand how to create an autorun.inf file on a cd . I need it to summon index.html on the root of the cd upon putting the cd in. Some sites have used a browser call do I need that. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Incredible. Any commonly used search engine returns at least 3 usable results...
echo -en "[autorun]\nopenindex.html\nicon=autorun.ico\n" > autorun.inf && unix2dos autorun.inf
How it opens depends on if the user has autorun enabled and what .html extension files are associated with.

Are you talking about a Windows autorun.inf file??? If so it is a simple text file;

[autorun]
open=<something_here>
icon=<my_desired_icon_here>
