How to tell proxy to close a connection ?

Hi,

I'm developing a proxy checker tool in C++. My problem is
that, once I sent the GET request to the proxy, it doesn't close
the connection. In the main code of the program I have a while
loop that keeps reading the HTTP headers the proxy sends, but
this loop never ends in mavy cases or it ends after several
minutes when finally the proxy close the connection. The
GET string is like this:

GET http://xxx..231.184:32000 /linux/rulez/forever.html HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: xxx.xxx.231.184\r\nProxy-Connection: close\r\n\r\n"

How to instruct the proxy to close the connection ?
I have also tried to send the HTTP/1.1 200 OK but nothing
to do !

Please help
