how to solve this error message

Hi All,

I wrote a shell script (not shown here), and during execution, I got an error message

Scalar found where operator expected at /dev/fd/63 line 5, near ")
$i"
(Missing operator before $i?)
syntax error at /dev/fd/63 line 5, near ")
$i"
Execution of /dev/fd/63 aborted due to compilation errors.

Can you please let me know what was wrong here?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Sure - you had a scalar where an operator was expected. And you probably forgot the operator before $i
