how to dynamically create email addresses?

I am programming in PHP, for my current project and it requires dynamically created email addresses. Basically users part of this organization once creating their account will have access to a dynamically spawned email address something to the tune of firstname.lastname@domain.org

I have used shell_exec() to execute shell commands and I will do some shell scripting if need be, I am just stuck clueless on where to begin with this.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well, without any explanation of how your mail subsystem is set up it is very difficult to give you any advice. In any event, I would start by establishing exactly what steps are required to create a working email account on your system. After you have this, start replicating it with php.
