How to cross-compile X window for mips!

I have download the source code,but I don't know how to edit the Makefile
and other files.
help!everyone!

You need to have a compiler (gcc probably) that wil compile for mips. Do you have it?

When you have the source downloaded and unpacked it's just
make World

You don't need to edit Makefiles if you're not familiar with them. It may be enough to deal with host.def file and modify it.
