how to count hurst value with R/S plot metode

i'm deni yulianti and I’m student in private college in Indonesia and i need your help to solve my problem about my final project...

the tittle of my final project is "burden traffic aggregate on multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) networking" and my problem is how to count hurst value based on time incoming packet in client side ang size of packet that send to client with metode R/S plot...

the programme in matlab. i don't know if excel can do it... please help me!!!!

You need to tell us what you know about R/S and what exactly your problems are. I'm thinking this would be easier to do in Matlab than Excel, since you'll likely want to store your data in an array and that way you can easily make the "window" you use for R/S and slide it over the data. There are other methods you can use to get the Hurst exponent - one of which is using something called "structure functions" (which are moments of differences). If you are so inclined, you can find out about these structure functions in the following paper (and others):

Again, what exactly is the problem you're having? Do you not know how to implement R/S, or something else? What have you tried?
