Question How do you create a check box in wiki pages?

Hello everyone,

I am new to editing wiki pages and I would like to add a check/tick box. Do you know a code which can do that? If that is now possible, how about a drop-down list? Thanks.

Regards,
archieval

Wouldn't that depend on the Wiki software you use, and its
underlying programming language?

I don't know, it's a generic wiki page on our intranet, says here powered by Mediawiki. Ah their site looks just like our wiki. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki. They have a some kind of formatting help in their site but I can't find how to make a check box or is that even possible?
