How do I debug a C program

Hi,

this is a rather basic question, so excuse my ignorance.

I have a C code which i supposed to compile and run on C under Linux, I need to debug it line by line as you do on windows applications like VC++ and delphi.

can this be done? how or with what software?

thanks

gdb is the command line debugger on GNU/Linux.

There are GUI front-ends available for it, such as ddd and xgdb.

Learn to use gdb first. :)
