Hiding the desktop and the "system tray" of KDE Desktop...

Hi!

I would like to make an application able to hide/show the desktop of the KDE desktop environment... Within Windows, this can be done with a set of Win API making the application behave as a screensaver.

Is there any equivalent in Linux?

Thanks in advance for any hint.

Best regards,
Kader.

why don't you just read the source? xlock or xscreensaver I'm sure could help in this area.

what is it exactly that you're trying to do?

I've seen lots of programs that have a "full screen" mode. Gthumb is one example. It can also be done with Java, photomesa does that.
