help : the file descriptor was blocked in "select()" .....

the file descriptor was blocked in "select()" in a thread and i got an error (segmation fault) when close the same file descriptor in other thread. how can i close the file descriptor or notice the select() return immediately ?

Either in the same threat where select() is called (specify a time-out if you need to), or on the other end of the pipe/fifo/socket. Or, don't use select() when using threads already.

Why use threats anyway when using select()? OK, for user interface I can imagine one could need maybe 2 or 3 threads.. but do you need it to close descriptors from there?
