Hardware Rendering

Hi!

Does anyone happen to know what Hardware Rendering is? Also, what is a programmable shader for hardware rendering. I have checked google, but can't seem to find an explanation.

Basically, in a nutshell would be great, if there are any graphics guys and gals out there?

Thanks a lot ;)

A "Hardware Rendering" is generally a 3d graphical rendering that takes advantage of instructions on the graphics chip. A programmable "shader" is essentially a way to give the graphics card a small program to do additional processing of vertices before the final rendering.
