GTK pop up window from a script
I'm just an admin not a real programmer but I've created a reboot script for several machines in a cluster. The script gets executed by a user at the master node. It works fine but I'd like to give him some output on the screen so he knows whats going on. The only way he will know is if he has a console open and this is not always the case. Is there a simple way to incorporate a GTK pop up window into my bash script indicating the action he took? Right now he just clicks an icon on the gnome desktop and waits. Here is my script:
for i in `cat /opt/local/app/hosts`; do
`ssh $i sudo /sbin/poweroff`
done
