GTK-2.0 and include files

Hello!

I have this stupid problem. I have just installed GTK-2.0. Now I'm trying to compile a simple file from a tutorial on the GTK page and the compiler complains that it can't find gtk.h

I've made a search for gtk.h the results are

/usr/include/gtk-1.2/gtk/gtk.h
/usr/include/gtk-2.0/gtk/gtk.h

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

you're just going on a gcc console command? did you include that refernce to gtk-config? or rather the gtk2 equivalent. you should ahve a compile command such as

gcc file.c -o file `gtk-config --libs --cflags`

Hello again!

Yes, this is the actual compile command I issued

gcc base.c -o base `pkg-config --cflags --libs gtk+-2.0`

I'm thinking that it might be something really simple like a file that specifies locations for all included *.h files or something. (not ld.so.conf)

Thanks for taking you time btw
