Talking Good open source programm for learning

I'v been learning programming for some time now and i want to know, whats (in your opinion) the best open source programm to learn from (by analysing abd editing the code) the programm should preferably be in Java or C++ (witch souldnt be any problem).
PS. Excuse my english and all the parantesis.

I think, best thing is to write your own programs at first. Also I think, understanfing Qt could help - thisīll be example of building class library
