gnome\kde screen lock app


i am trying to create an app that locks the screen when a user logs in and presents the user with a small dialog box that the user enters a password into before the screen will become unlocked, in either the gnome environment or kde or both. i would preferalby like to use either c and/or c++

I'm not certain why you would want to do that, but you could look at the screensaver code on each desktop, since they have a lock screen feature.

i am trying to create a kiosk feature. i found one for kde but its really buggy and i am not sure how to convert it for gnome use. i would rather just start over again
