GAWK using Boolean "NOT"

How can I tell gawk to print out everything else my search finds? So once it finds all the lines in the file that contain "-1", I want it to print all the rest of the lines. Like:

cat test-file | grep -v '\-1'

I want this done using gawk

cat test-file | gawk -F '|' '{OFS="|";IGNORECASE=1;} ($4) ~/\-1/ {print $0}'

Just concentrating on the one part at the top: grep -v 'pattern'... this should work:

awesome. I see that I can also do this with gawk:

cat test-file | gawk -F '|' '{OFS="|";IGNORECASE=1;} ($4) !~/\-1/ {print $0}'

and nawk

nawk '$0 !~ /-1/' filename

I am curious why you would need to ignore case when comparing a number??
