Unhappy ftp commands in VB6

in visual basic 6.0, why doesn't this work.

form1.inet1.execute "dir /" & schoolID$ & "/*.imm"

followed by

form1.inet1.execute "get /" & schoolID$ & "/" & localfile$ & " c:/IMME/" & localfile$

both report a state change of 12 but the localfile doesn't appear on the c: drive schoolid is "100" and localfile is "AL_mix_tom_203130.imm" local file is really a text file. Thanks if anyone can help.

Do you know which forum you're on? Why did you think this was on-topic for "Linux - Newbie"? (which this thread was first posted in)?

linux operating systems do not support Microsoft's proprietary " Visual basic 6 "

that is why it is not working

you need to use a Microsoft operating system ( Vista,7,or 8 )

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Programming and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

An aside note: a Programming question is not necessarily Linux related. Moreover the OP seems to run on a MAC OS system. This was just a mis-placed thread.
