error meaning


what this error actually mean:

error:
dereferencing pointer to the incomplete type

You don't mention what causes this error.

It could mean that a variable name points to a class type that has not been properly defined.

For example,

if there is a class User which has not been fully defined, then User Fred = new User() will cause an error.

can u explain the same error in c language

the error has shown at this point:-

i have removed the header file

(#include<netdb.h>)

struct hostent *host;
struct sockaddr_in client_addr;

error at this line:-

client_addr.sin_addr=*((struct in_addr *)host->h_addr);

i know how to get rid of error...but i need what does it mean
