Eclipse runtime-xyz.product Directories

Hello all,

I (have to) use Eclipse for a lot of development work on various projects, and when I run my products I always end up with a bunch of runtime-xyz.product directories sitting in my $HOME afterwards. Does anybody know of a way tell Eclipse to put these directories somewhere else, rather than littering my home directory with them?

As always, thanks for any ideas.

I'm on 3.2.2 now but the same thing happened with 3.2.1 -- these are RCP applications by the way. It seems that the directories contain information about the contributions the plugins make to Eclipse.

It's rather odd that Eclipse puts it in your home dir instead of a hidden folder in your workspace. You could always write an alias to remove all the dirs with three keystrokes, but that's a workaround, not a solution.

Do they show up if you run stuff outside of Eclipse? Maybe Eclipse can't control it in that case.
