I recently upgraded from Slackware 11 to Slackware 12 and as such my GCC compiler was upgraded from 3.4.6 to 4.1.2. I have a C++ project that was written with the help of Eclipse 3.2. I can compile my code (an executable and a set of libraries) happily under both Slackware 11 and Slackware 12, but I cannot run my code on Slackware 12. I get an immediate error - terminate exit code -1. I have put a printf statement as the first line of int main() and this never even gets called! Is there something I need to do with upgrading GCC to allow my code to run? I have checked that I can run programs from Slackware 12 with a "Hello World" program so I'm pretty sure my toolchain is correct (it should be - it's taken from the Slackware dvd!).

Hi,
have you include stdio.h, without it you get a warning, may be it affects something somewhere?
remember that printf writes on terminal, may be you run your progam from a GUI, and don't get output , try to use fprintf to file for example.
