Hi athenerx,

I can give you something like an answer, but my KDE is in french, so...

To add an entry in your K-menu, just run something like 'control panel' (between 'About KDE' and'Execute'), choose 'configure', 'Menu editor' and you'll see something like a tree of the applications avialable through the K-menu. There you can add whatever you want

PS : I'm running KDE 2.0.1

Hope it helps !

the fact that the executable isn't in /usr/local/bin is irrelevant, and has nothign to do with the kde menus. nice program btw...

Hi,

Ok, sorry for the silly answer (I've just woken up...)

If I understand well, you have an rpm problem, have you ?

In that case, to see the files installed by an rpm bundle, just type (as root of course):

rpm -ql bundle_name

For example :

shell # rpm -ql xmps /opt/gnome/share/gnome/apps/Multimedia/XMPS.desktop

/usr/bin/xmps

/usr/bin/xmps-config

/usr/include/xmps

/usr/include/xmps/plugin.h

/usr/include/xmps/types.h

/usr/include/xmps/xmps_config.h

/usr/include/xmps/xmps_message.h

[...]

/usr/share/xmps/skins/default/playlist.xpm

/usr/share/xmps/skins/default/titlebar.xpm

/usr/share/xmps/stop.xpm

/usr/share/xmps/xmps-logo.xpm

/usr/share/xmps/xmps_intro.xpm

shell #

And then just make links :

ln -s destination_file source_file :

ln -s /usr/bin/xmps-config ~/my_prog/xpms-config

Hope it helps (this time ;-))
