debugging


Could someone tell me what tool should I use for debugging programs written in C++ or Java(on a Slackware 9.1 box)?

gdb is the debugger.

Frontends for gdb:

emacs
cgdb - a curses-based interface to the GNU Debugger (GDB)
ddd - The Data Display Debugger, a graphical debugger frontend
kdbg - Graphical debugger interface
kdevelop - An IDE for Unix/X11
xxgdb - A X front-end to the GNU debugger gdb
xwpe - Programming environment and editor for console and X11
gvd - GNU Visual Debugger
insight - Graphical debugger based on GDB
motor - C/C++/Java Integrated Development Environment
