DCOP is the IPC ( inter process communication ) use in KDE. It can be used within KDE applications you can also access it directly through the CLI for scripting.

Have a look at DCOP Class Index also the KDE Developers Tutorials for more info on DCOP.

Yikes. I read their tutorials on DCOP and am more confused than before I did. They need to say " open an empty text file, put these include statements at the top, create these objects and perform these calls to communicate with the DCOP server. Then follow up with an example of communicating with a KDE app, include the completed code that the reader can save to their HD and compile with the g++ command and run to see how it looks when it is working.

Are there any _decent_ documents on accessing the DCOP interface?

I thought the tutorial on creating a DCOP interface was pretty straight forward. Theres also Connect KDE applications using DCOP at IBM which also has links to even more information.

Both of these are on the KDevelopers tutorials page.
