CSS frames: common links

Hi,
i write some articles -each one in a single html page- and each one of them has a left frame (navigation frame) with links to all the others. The problem is, that i do not want edit the navigation frame of each previous article with link to the new one, every time i add a new article.
In the older HTML frame way, this would be easy to do by linking the navigation frame of each article to a single common html file; i would then update links of the latter.
How do i do that with CSS?

well this isn't really anything to do with CSS at all. Generally you'd just write a page template and then add a little php or such like to include other files. You can also use apache server side includes to automatically add other pages without coding specifically around it.

There is a very thick layer of rust on my html skills......One thing caught my eye: Recent thought is to avoid the use of frames---use <div>s instead.

well yes, and that'll be where the "css" talk comes into it, as using framesets removes this sort of issue.

I solved it with XML+Javascript. I have an XML file, where i add the name of the link and the corresponding url. I made a javascript sript for parsing this file as well. Now, i just have to include the js file in my html file and call the function with the corresponding xml file as a parameter... This seems to be a decent solution, eehh?

Thanks
