Core dumping...

I'm trying to recalibrate a GameShark memory addressing feature for my Playstation Emulator. And kill -11 #pid# doesn't force a core dump of the emulator... Is there anyway to lookup the memory contents of an application or force a program to core dump?

You may have core dumps turned off. You can find out with this command:
ulimit -a
If core file size is set to 0 then you have core files turned off. You can turn them on with:
ulimit -c unlimited
and turn them off with:
ulimit -c 0
