Core dump formatter

Are there any good tools out there that "neatly" browse a core dump, i.e. list the register numbers and values, list the . sections from the failing module separately, etc.?
Short of that, is there anyone that can disclose the structure of the file? (Note: please don't suggest that I read the source, I'm not in the least bit proficient in any of the C languages).
I've been using bless to read dumps but it's not a particularly user friendly way to go about it.

Have a look at the crash tool from Redhat - uses gdb which is always another option.

Thanks for the reply... I mostly hacked the file format several days ago and coded a bit with it, it helped quite a bit once I stumbled on the ELF manpage. I looked at the Red Hat crash tool, the prerequisites are beyond me and I was looking for something a bit "lighter". I expect I'll have something in the nature of what I'm looking for soon, I just need to figure out how to separate the code/constants/variables in the dump, I have the rest working. It will just format the dump into a human-readable "sister" file.
I'll mark this as solved....
