copying files with javascript


Hi,

i'm trying to move some files that i select checkboxed using javascript: googling around i found: http://www.webreference.com/js/tips/...cat=op&start=1

this works fine on IE 4+
but is there anything out there for mozilla and mac for moving files? thanks

HUH copying files using javascript and the browser allowing the same. Isnt that called a security issue. sounds scary to me

well. my javascript is locally ran. the files are harmless and no one would care about them.

ps: i'm fairly new to real web programming, so pardon me when i say stupid shit.
pps: what i'm doin now is not real web programming

I have to agree with zeropash: copying files with javascript is brain-damaged. Of course, copying files server-side is ok, but javascript is client-side. For some server-side web-programming, look at php for starters.

I hope that nothing short of long-haired source hacking on mozilla will let you copy files with javascript; not because I want you to fail, but because letting that happen is... I'm just more and more disgusted with microsoft for each passing day.
