console commands

So I'm sure this is question that has been asked many times before but I was unable to find anything.

Is there either a library or a standardized block of code that people use for command line arguments? I mean, I have created plenty of c/c++ programs with simplistic arguments but there has got to be a library or standardized block of code because I am sick of coding the exact same thing every time.

So does something like this exist?

By all means. See `man 3 getopt`.
