"Connection rest by peer" why and how to resolve ?

Hi all,

In a busy production server recv system call from the client side fails and returns with error "Connection rest by peer". What are all the situations that produces this error. What is the work around that is done usually for this error.

This almost sounds like a test question of some sort.

Assuming it's not, "Connection reset by peer" basically just means the remote system terminated the incoming connection. This can sometimes occur because the remote system is already handling the maximum number of connections it allows.
