Connect LAN Games through SSH TUNNEL


I just wondering and wanted to know,I heard that we can playing a LAN games whether the computers are not in the same place/workgroup but still we can 'see' the other computer through LAN even the distance is far as 30km using SSH TUNNEL.

Is it true and how this thing work?

Yes we can create a tunnel by ssh, but you mentioned games in the topic. For games I think the best is tu use VPN or Virtual Private Network. There's a really good program called Hamachi on it. It creates something like a virtual LAN between a group of computers, even if they have internal IPs

There's also openVPN but it's more difficult to use.

I try the Hamachi and it works! thanks!

but one thing i wanted to know,how we could use a tunnel to do the same purpose,to play a game whether the pcs are not in the same place(far away).

in a programming could i use java to write a application similar to Hamachi?using a tunnel.
and if not what programming language should i use.
