Question Color Themes

Ok, heres the situation, I need to detect the system colors (in linux), whatever colors that are in your current theme, this needs to be done regardless of the window manager you are using. I am not using GTK or QT or similar and the GUI kit I am using doesnt have any functions to retrieve these colors.

Anyone know how this can be done?
